Art Competitions

Before joining 1st Place 4 Trophies, I worked in education for 20 years. During the later years, I created an Eco-Warrior group with some of the junior children and we would run art competitions for the school.
World Rhino Day is on the 22nd September each year, so a competition to make a rhino creation is a lovely summer holiday project to set. Need a prize? Rhino Medals
The competitons raised awareness about endangered animals with the older children and they were a great way to teach new vocabulary to the nursery children. The children could choose whether to write a story or a poem, draw a picture or make a 3D structure.
The Eco-Warrior group would vote for their favourite art pieces and the winners would receive prizes and certificates.
The entries were amazing. At the end of the competition the pieces were a great way to show progression of skills across the school. Children entering were mostly between the ages of 3 and 11 so a wide range of skills could be seen and a clear difference between each class. The school as a whole all have different artists to focus on throughout the year and so comparisions between pieces can be tricky. With the competitions they were all creating artwork based on one animal, showcasing a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space.
There are many animal awareness days throughout the year and we have a wide range of medal prizes here.
