Spotlight On Local Hockey Star Katie King

Katie King was introduced to hockey at secondary school here in the West Midlands. She was inspired to join her local hockey club at age 11. Katie excelled at the sport and within just two seasons she was playing for the ladies 1st XI team and then went on to represent the county. 

Katie then left her local club to study at university. Katie overcame the challenges of balancing academics, work, and training and went on to play both university and club hockey. She played for the next four years, before joining another local club. 

Katie's perseverance and passion for the game resulted in becoming the captain of the ladies 2nd XI team. As captain she was able to lead the team towards a promotion in the Midlands Premier League.
